Q. When should I suspend someone?


Suspending an employee may be appropriate when an act of Gross Misconduct is suspected.

Suspension is always WITH PAY.  It is unlawful to suspend without pay.

When suspending an employee it is not a form of disciplinary sanction.

It can be helpful to suspend someone if keeping them at work is likely to effect or disrupt your investigation.
