Q. How do I deal with an employee on maternity leave?


Maternity leave rules or Shared Parental Leave rules can be complicated to interpret. 

The important thing to remember is that the pregnant employee has the following three rights whilst on Statutory Maternity Leave:

  • Receive pay rises
  • Accrue holidays
  • Return to work
